Supervision of seven affordable housing buildings that are either subsidized or have tax credit funding. Each building houses seniors and/or physically challenged adults. Responsibilities include staffing, compliance with HUD regulations, preparation, and participation in management audits conducted by National Housing Compliance, Illinois Housing Development Authority, and National Equity Fund. Also responsible for operating budget preparation and submission, fair housing compliance, and apartment rehabilitation oversight.

Housing Counselor Volunteer and Vice President, Board of Directors – Partners In Community Building, Inc. (PICB), Chicago, Illinois.
Responsibilities include application intake and interviews and loan modification request submissions. During the assessment period, a determination is made regarding the current or potential need for outside referrals. On-going status and follow-up reports are prepared and maintained in client files.
September 2004 – January 2006
Director of Housing – Providence Management and Development Corporation, Tinley Park, Illinois.
Responsibilities include the supervision of twelve affordable housing buildings that total eight hundred apartments and a staff of fifty-six employees. The buildings are located in Chicago and the surrounding metropolitan area. Various funding programs are in place at the building, including HUD (section 8), Illinois Housing and Development Authority, Shelter Plus Care, etc. Each of the funding programs require a separate reporting procedure and regulatory mandates.

Supervised the daily management of an 80 unit building located in Elmhurst, Ilinois, The building was part of the 202/8 funding program.
August 2003 – March 2003
Director of Management Operations – E.L. Everette company, Chicago, Illinois.
Was solely responsible for the management of all affordable apartment and single family homes located on the south side of Chicago. Responsibilities included, but were not limited to, applicant screening, rental collections, supervising building maintenance, accounts receivable, and all marketing efforts.
April 1998 – December 2011
Housing Director/Asset Director – The Housing Authority of the City of Atlanta, Georgia.
As a Housing Director, I supervised the overall management operation of approximately 1700 public housing apartments and two support service teams, painters, and plumbers. Other responsibilities included staffing, contractor compliance, budget oversight, property inspections, renovations, monthly reporting, etc….
As an Asset Director, my responsibilities included the oversight of all contractual compliance components that existed between two privately owned management companies and the Housing Authority. As a Contract Administrator, my oversight covered the daily fiscal operations for twelve high-rise and low-rise communities. Other duties were budget oversight, capital improvements, renovations, resident services, and security related issues. Facilitated regular meetings with Regional Managers and compliance personnel at the Housing Authority. Reviewed monthly owners reports and prepared quarterly performance reports for review by the Assistant Director for Real Estate Management.
